Remove Unwanted Hair Forever- Electrolysis by Face & Body

Electrolysis works by introducing a very mild electrical current into the moist base of the hair follicle which stops the blood supply to the root. The hair root is then neutralized by a chemical action which prevents it from re-growing.

What causes unwanted hair growth?

Hair growth is the result of heredity and hormonal levels. Also, some drugs, temporary methods of hair removal, and some illnesses can stimulate hair growth. Usually, hair growth is desirable. But when the hair is the wrong part of your body — a woman’s upper lip or chin, the hands or arms — you may be considering electrolysis. Men have electrolysis for their ear lobes and the top of their nose and eyebrows. Larger hair zones are more suitable for waxing or Laser.

How many treatments will I need?

Since many factors influence hair growth, you will need to return for several months. The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. Most clients return once a week or every other week, as necessary for up to six to nine months. If one has been plucking the hair the growth will be more difficult to remove and may take up to a year depending on the size of the area. Come in for a test patch and a consultation so we can personalise your answers. But the unwanted hair will be gone forever once the series of treatments have been completed. Each treatment lasts between 15 minutes and half an hour.

Myths About Electrolysis

  • Electrolysis is painful. The truth is, electrolysis usually cause discomfort but not pain. Modern electrolysis methods have reduced any discomfort to a mere tingling. A topical aesthetic may be used in some cases.
  • Temporary methods of hair removal are better. The truth is, chemical depilatories (liquids or creams) are often used to remove leg hair. These products may work well for the legs but cannot be used on the face.

Electrolysis by Face & Body -Facts About Electrolysis

  • Electrolysis is a time-tested method that was invented more than 100 years ago to remove irritating, in-grown eyelash hairs. Now a days most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face ,lip ,chin, thighs, abdomen, tummy buttons , nipples on breasts, and legs.
  • There are no permanent side effects. Mostly , a slight reddening of the skin occurs during or immediately after treatment, but this will only last for a short time. Electrolysis is very safe and, unlike depilatories or bleaches, no harsh chemicals are used.

Electrolysis is a method of semi-permanent hair removal. As its name implies, we use an electric current to destroy the root of each individual hair. This is a complex subject and a consultation and test patch is essential.

Dilated Capillary Removal

We use a high frequency current, a very effective permanent method of removing dilated capillaries. These visible capillaries, also known as red veins, are often found on sensitive skins that have a genetic celtic link – could this be you? We cauterise these vessels and they heal over a 4-6 week period. It does feel hot and stingy but we work to your tolerance levels.

Waxing by Face & Body -Facial or body hair in unwanted places can cause the Goddess in you to shy away… we want you to feel free to be the true Goddess you are!

Waxing is another effective way of removing unwanted hair, leaving your skin smooth, and relatively free of hair growth for up to four weeks.

How It Works

A sticky wax is spread on the area of skin where the unwanted hair is growing. A cloth strip is then applied over the wax and quickly pulled off, taking the hair root and dead skin cells with it. The wax can be warmed or may be applied cold. Waxing can be done at a salon or at home.

How Long It Lasts- 3 to 6 weeks

Waxing leaves the area smooth and is long lasting. Hair regrowth looks lighter and less noticeable than it is after other methods of hair removal, such as shaving.

A person may notice temporary redness, inflammation, and bumps after waxing. You need to dry brush , prior to getting into a shower ,the waxed zone after three days . Dry brushing prevents the build up of dead skin cells on the surface that may block the hair follicle. The hair will continue to grow and if the top of the follicle is occluded the hair will grow into the skin! Apply a moisturizing body lotion or body butter from our Pure Fiji range and use it every day after your shower along with “ dry brushing “ for post wax care. We stock excellent dry brushing body mitts in salon for you to take home.

People with diabetes should avoid waxing because they are more susceptible to infection. Also, teens who use acne medications such as tretinoin and isotretinoin may want to skip the wax because those medicines make the skin more sensitive. Teens with moles or skin irritation from sunburn should also avoid waxing.

For waxing to work, hair should be at least 1/4 inch (about 6 millimetres) long, so skip shaving for a few weeks before waxing. Waxing works best on legs, bikini areas, and eyebrows.
